We are taking steps to improve Casino 5824. We might have scout our competition down the street, Casino San Pablo. I can tell you right now that the advantages we have over them are that we have a more homey feel, we have accomodations for overnight guests, and we'll let you use our phone for local calls. Cal is on his way of realizing his dream of becoming a pit boss.

It is a time of mourning for the residents of 5824. Our much beloved Chinese fast food place located just 5 minutes away at the San Pablo Towne Center has closed down. Fook's Fast Food is no more. We used to go there to get one kind of fried rice, one kind of chow mein, one egg roll, and one item from the steam table (formerly known as Combo A) for only $3.10.
A few weeks ago, new ownership took over. They were set to re-open last week, but there was a slight delay. Now there is a new name (Lee's Garden Fast Food), but also new prices. The equivelent of what used to be Combo A now cost a whopping $3.99 and that's without the egg roll ($0.69 extra, I think). Even worse, we took a quick peek of the menu items (since they now close at 8:30pm instead of 10:00pm, we were unable to get food there) and I did not see my favorite Fook's item, the Singapore style curry rice noodles!!
I used to stop by Fook's when I wanted a quick meal that did not involve a drive-thru. I guess this means more Crunchy Taco Supremes in my future.

Thanks to all who came over this weekend. I had a good time. And our house now has a four month supply of hot links and bacon. Perhaps we can schedule another BBQ once we perfect the bacon-infused burger.

Someone may be stealing our custom toilet seat business, but Casino 5824 might get one of these to compete with Caesar's Palace.

I figured out why my pictures (such as the toilet seat one) won't stay on this blog. It's a sneaky tactic used by Yahoo photos and is not worth the effort to combat. Maybe I'll use a new photo hosting site soon.
It's almost three in the morning and I'm scared to sleep. Why? It's Friday the 13th and I'm locked in a house full of weapo...I mean, movie props, with a guy named Jason. I'm not sure if he is snoring or if it is that chu-chu-chu-chu breathing pattern that Jason does before all of his kills.
