Movie showtimes at Century 5824

On screen 1:

9:00am Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings Special Extended Edition

12:45pm Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Special Extended Edition

5:00pm Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Special Extended Edition

Admission is free for the first 50. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis.

Marathon started at 9:16am. Ended successfully at 9:08pm.

Bob, Danny, and I endured cold, hunger (some bastard threw all our bread down the cliff), and fatigue, but we made it. Running a 26.2 mile marathon would probably take about 4 hours, so our marathon was three times as hard.

Shelob has left the building.

The monster spider was saved from a fiery flaming fireball of a death when it was released by Chris for good behavior. The spider was looking mad the last 2 days it was in captivity. It was in its attack stance all the time. I was thinking it would have been awesome to wrap the spider and the little box up and bring it to a Christmas gift exchange thing. Doing the fireball thing would have been cool too.

Since the Twelve Days of Christmas is already taken, I have the 11 Days before Christmas.

On the 11th day before Christmas, 5824 has given to us...

11 pipers piping (oops, that's not us)

10 DVD's of Matrix

9 space heaters

8 thousand ants a crawling

7 2 offsuit

6 packs of cola

5 tv screens

4 movie props

3 roommates

2 monster spiders

and a fiber optic Christmas tree

This spider stuff is starting to get serious. Last night, I was minding my own business when Jason comes running into my room and tells me I need to see something. I go into the kitchen and we see Shelob's bigger and badder older brother on the floor. We have the pic of the first spider next to a dime; this one would have posed next to a cd.

It didn't speak to us, but it was clear what it wanted: blood. And for us to free his brother. We couldn't find anything big enough to capture Shelob's brother with. (I don't think a shoebox would have fix this beast.) I didn't want to mess with this one, and we were not going to negotiate with spiders. Chris escorted this giant arachnid outside the door and told it not to return. Shelob is still in our custody, but I may have to speed up plans to build my flamethrower. This place is becoming like the cave in Harry Potter.

Non-spiderbeast 5824 note: tv's have been upgraded. The 5" screen has been replaced by a 25". For those of you scoring at home, that makes 32", 25", 20", 19", and 9".

Oh crap! Shelob got out!

The house is still very cold. Jason and I have used different methods to keep from freezing. None of these plans include huddling together for body heat. Jason's plan involves purchasing every heater ever developed by mankind. I spent the big bucks on an electric warming blanket. (I believe Jason actually already has some kind of electric blanket in addition to the 17 heaters.)

I like the electric blanket. In addition to keeping me warm when I sleep, I can make grilled cheese sandwiches in bed. The only complaint I have is that the blanket comes with a 10 hour auto off safety feature. What am I supposed to do when I need to sleep for 12 or 14 hours on a cold night/day?

Our PG&E bill this month is going to be a monster.

It's cold at the house.

How cold is it?

It's so cold that....

-even the 49ers wide receivers could catch something here

-we can only drink our coffee with ice cream

-Christina Aguilera came over and actually put on some clothes

-spiders have signs asking me to burn them
